Cookie files (so-called “cookies”), are the computer data, in particular text files, stored on the Service User’s terminal device and designed for use of the Service websites. Cookies in most cases include the name of the website they originate from, the time of storage on the terminal device, the content (e.g. action identifiers) and the unique number.

The entity placing the Cookie files on the terminal device of the Service User and having access to them is the Service Operator.

Cookie files are used for:

  • customising the content of the Service websites to the User’s preferences and for optimisation of the use of the websites. In particular, these files help recognise the Service User’s device and correctly display the website, suited to its individual requirements;
  • creation of statistics, which enable the understanding the way the Service Users use the websites, which in turn enables improvement of their structure and content;

Two types of cookie files are used in the Service: “session” (session cookies, session storage) and “persistent” (persistent cookies, local storage). “Session” cookies are temporary files, stored on the User’s terminal device till the time of session expiry (e.g. leaving the website, removing it by the User, or disabling the software). “Persistent” cookie files are stored on the User’s terminal device for the duration specified in the cookie file parameters or till the time they are removed by the User.

The following types of cookie files are used in the Service:

  •  “functional” cookie files, enabling the “remembering” of the User settings preferences and the personalisation of the User’s interface, e.g. language or region, that the User comes from, the appearance of the website, etc.;
  • cookie files used for security purposes, used for detection of abuse of authentication within the Service;
  •  “performance” cookie files, enabling the gathering of information regarding the use of the Service websites;

In many cases, the software used for viewing the websites (web browser) by default allows for storing the cookie files on the User’s terminal device. The Service Users may at any time modify the cookie files settings. These settings may be modified in particular in such the way so as to block the automatic handling of cookie files in the web browser’s settings, or each time notify the User of their placement on the Service User’s device. Detailed information regarding the options and methods of handling of cookie files is available in the software settlings (of the web browser).

The Service Operator hereby informs that the restrictions regarding the use of cookie files may have impact on certain functionalities available at the Service websites.

Cookie files placed on the Service User’s terminal device may also be used by advertisers and partner cooperating with the Service Operator.
